I did a little bit of research about Solar powered electricity for homes and got in touch with Borrego http://www.borregosolar.com/ . There are both CA state subsidy as well as Federal tax benefit available for going Solar. I'm exploring more...

Nice effort!
Actually we've finally decided to get solar energy for our house. We met with 4-5 companies who install solar PV systems in south bay area and have agreed to go with one of them. Its been an interesting learning experience.
Will be happy to share details with any one interested.
