Is Indian Judiciary waking up?

Some of the recent rulings by the Supreme Court of India and by Delhi
High Courts have gone against the might rich and politically powerful
individuals.

Over the past several years , not only people had given up police
system along with government bodies but also they had left hopes of a
timely justice. Almost everyday there were cases where people with
moneyand or political power would commit crimes -rapes, murders,
extortions, financial scams and most probably no police case would be
registered against them(as the police would be bribed). In the rare
event a case does get registered, the judicial system will take
decades to get verdict out.

But recently it seems to have changed. Within a matter of few months
several critical judgements have come: First was the ruling in the
Priyadarshani Matto rape and murder trial which was delivered on Oct
31 after 11 yrs of the crime. Read more:

Then came the punishment of life sentence to Shibu Soren's who is a
Member of Parliament (MP) for murdering his own secretary. Read more:

Then came 3 yrs imprisonment sentence to Navjot Singh Sidhu who is a
BJP MP along with being a big public figure after retiring from a
wonderful cricket career.Read more:

There are two other high profile murder trials going on in New Delhi.
High profile because they involve people who are strong politically as
well as monetarily. Jessica Lal, a model was killed in a Delhi bar in
1999 by the son of a senior Congress politican. On Dec 19, Delhi High
Court overturned lower court's verdict and gave life imprisonment to
Manu Sharma. Before this , the relatives and family had gotten a lot
of public support after this case was repeatedly brought up in media.

So it makes me think what has changed recently? Has the Congress
leadership suddenly empowered the judiciary? Has the recent increase
in TV channels and media's new presence and journalism made the system
more transparent ?Or has there is something more grass -root level
explanation as to why very high profile criminals are also being
nabbed and convicted ?

Awesome Job -Manmohan Singh!

I commend the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for having the mettle to begin the privatisation of Indian Airports. Ask any traveler or any reviewer about which country by far has the worst airports in the world- by all means the answer would be India.

Is it a surprise? For those who have never been to India, this might be a surprise with India being acknowledged as one of the biggest emerging economies. Indian government under Manmohan Singh has been doing phenomenally great job at improving the much need infrastructure- be it roads, or telecommunication, air transport and finally now the Airports. By opening these industries to private companies, it is trying to address the root cause of poor infrastructure as well as negligible improvements- and that root cause is -lack of willingness to do any thing on part of employees becuase of their secure government jobs as well as their ability to remain corrupt.

How many people have been troubled by Customs officer while entering India??- they trouble you to extract every little bit of your pocket change. And now that government is beginning privatising these airports, they are on strike to challenge it .

If any of those 30000 AAI (Airport Authority of India) employees are reading this blog, I want to challenge you- Do you say Mera Bhart Mahan (My India is Great)??? Are you making it great? How ?? By trying to block the very thing which can make it great..?
Are people so insecure of their jobs? Do they have any belief in themselves? Can't we see beyond the money we are making today? Aren't there better opportunities waiting ahead?

Every single time, anyone in this country wants to honestly take a positive step, there are people who start pulling that person down. Why don't we want to progress? Left parties -allies of the UPA Government (led by Manmohan Singh of Congress ) are encourgaing the strike of AAI and even asking unions of workers across the country to support the strike. What the F**K ? Trust me, the hypocrite leaders of Left parties who are opposing the privatisation, when they go abroad, they complain about facilities in India and show their earnest desires to improve it . But do they leave a single politically motivated chance to kill such a development ?Not a chance.

Wake up people! To make India really Mahan (Great), we citizens of this country need to believe in ourselves that change is good. Either we can be sure of miserable today or risk a beautiful tomorrow. Support Manmohan Singh in his efforts to modernize India so that we can truly say " Mera Bharat Mahan"
